Micro-learning and Capacity Building
Innsbruck (AT), February 2008 - For the fourth time, Microlearning 2008 presents a platform for international experts and practitioners from a wide range of fields to discuss the latest developments in digital technologies and practices induced by micro-content. The conference will be held June 25th - 27th, 2008 in Innsbruck, Austria; the venue is the University of Innsbruck, and the title for 2008 is Micro-learning & Capacity Building.
Capacity building is about empowering individuals, organisations, and societies to keep pace with the global knowledge society, notably through the use of Internet-based and mobile ICT. The term is mostly used in relation to "less-developed countries". But under the conditions of the global digital climate change, everyone needs to adapt. We are seeing the emergence of new technology-driven practices, new patterns of attention, new aggregate states of knowledge, and new hybrid forms that go beyond the antithesis of orality and literacy workers and information workers.
Microlearning 2008 will concentrate on five points:
- Classrooms without walls
- Micro-content technologies and infrastructures
- Changes in workplaces and enterprises
- Mobile learning and the mobile web
- Evaluation of digital learning
