Technology-Enhanced Learning in Mathematics and Science
Palermo (IT)/Saarbruecken (GER), September 2011 - The Centre for eLearning Technology (CeLTech) is organising a workshop on the subject of "Technology-Enhanced Learning for Mathematics and Science (TELMAS): Landmark Research and New Contributions" as part of EC-TEL 2011, the sixth European Conference on Technology-Enhanced Learning, to be held from 20 - 23 September in Palermo, Italy.
The workshop, which will take place from 9.00 am on 21 September in the Conference hotel, will be run in honour of and in memory of private lecturer Dr. Erica Melis (1949-2011).
Amongst other things, the workshop aims to inform the wide target public of Technology-Enhanced Learning (TEL) experts about projects that are characteristic of the field of TELMAS, as well as to provide a platform for discussing new TELMAS applications that make use of the benefits of new information technologies and help to overcome the challenges of modern education in the area of mathematics and natural sciences. Following the workshop, selected contributions will be published in a state-of-the-art edition of Springer Lecture Notes.
The speakers invited include Vincent Aleven (Carnegie Mellon University), Ivon Arroyo (University of Massachusetts Amherst), Cristina Conati (University of British Columbia), Susanne Narciss (Technical University Dresden), and Johanna Moore (University of Edinburgh).
