Tartu (EE), March 2009 - The conference looking at changes in teaching and learning entitled "Schools - From Teaching Institutions to Learning Spaces" will take place on 02-03 April 2009 at the Estonian University of Life Science conference centre (Kreutzwaldi 1A, Tartu). Simultaneous translation into English will be provided. Different perspectives on teaching and learning, both "old school" and online will be discussed and assessed.
The conference includes a plenary session, workshops, and hands-on training. Different perspectives on teaching and learning, both "old school" and online will be discussed and assessed, for example through the lens of questions such as "Who is teaching whom?" and "We have changed, but has school?".
In training sessions, tools such as Methopedia, a wiki and a social community for trainers and a product of the EU project Comble, will be explained and directly applied in small group session.
The registration fee is 250 EUR and includes all conference facilities, materials, a reception on the evening of April 2, simultaneous translation from Estonian to English in the main conference hall, lunches, and coffee breaks on both conference days.
