The World Innovation Summit for Education

Lyon (F) / Doha (QA), November 2013 - Euronews has been a major media partner of the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE), an initiative of the Qatar Foundation, which was launched in 2009 under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation. Euronews is proud to announce the renewal and expansion of this long-term collaboration with WISE.

WISE, which is chaired by Dr Abdulla bin Ali Al-Thani, seeks to build the future of education through innovation. The annual international summit in Doha gathers around 1,400 experts, political leaders, and pioneering practitioners from multiple sectors worldwide to foster new cooperation and develop innovative solutions. Its goal is to inspire creative changes in education.

The 2013 WISE Summit, under the theme "Reinventing Education for Life", took place in Doha 29-31 October. Euronews reported on air, online, and for Euronews apps with its special team of correspondents.

Finally, Summit participants were invited to record, in a specially-built Euronews studio, their own video testimony on their learning experiences. These are featured as part of the new WISE "Learning Journeys" programme on the WISE website and YouTube channel.

In the framework of their renewed partnership, Euronews will support the new WISE Channel on YouTube, which was launched at the 2013 WISE Summit.

The WISE Channel, focused on innovative trends and best practices in education, will benefit from Euronews editorial and marketing expertise to help drive audience engagement. The channel will, for the first time, feature HD content fully optimized for YouTube, including the weekly Euronews program "Learning World", produced in partnership with WISE.

This contribution builds upon Euronews' specific know-how as a multi-channel network (MCN), certified by YouTube as a YouTube specialist. This expertise allows Euronews to launch and manage channels for its partners and to boost their presence on the video network.
