Auspicious Cooperation

London, September 2005 - The British Learning Association (BLA) is receiving support from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) to conduct market research into learning and development export opportunities.

Initially a pilot project, sector market research is being conducted from the UK to investigate key areas of learning and development activity in Spain.

Following the outcomes of the research, a team of experienced BLA consultants will be commissioned to visit Spain over the next two months to investigate key areas of the learning and development sector, with a view to assessing the export opportunities for relevant UK organisations.

Speaking on the partnership between the BLA and UKTI, Brian Merison General Manager at the BLA said, -œUKTI expressed a desire to work with the BLA to help develop exporting opportunities and support for the learning and development sector.- He went on to say, -œThe BLA has an established track record in delivering project outcomes - the BLA's status as an independent -˜not for profit' registered charity enhances the objectivity and clarity of what is achieved.-

A one-day event is also scheduled to take place in the first week of December in the Yorkshire and Humberside region to disseminate the findings and to raise awareness in general of international export opportunities for providers in the learning and development sector. The event will demonstrate how providers can start to engage in export opportunities through a series of case studies from BLA members with experience in the export business to illustrate how companies have been successful in international markets.

The dissemination event in December will be the first of what will become a series of events scheduled in the UK for 2006.
