NHS Blood and Transplant Upgrades Its "Shine Academy"
Milton Keynes (UK), May 2019 - Since 2014, NHS Blood and Transplant (NHSBT) has used Traineasy LMS, branded as the NHSBT Shine Academy, to manage compliance with statutory and mandatory training. A major upgrade, successfully completed in March 2019, sees Shine Academy relaunched as a mobile responsive solution with an extended catalogue of digital learning resources.
Amongst the digital learning resources now available on Shine Academy are the ShineByte Learning Activities, short learning resources covering a wide range of personal and team development. They support the 70:20:10 model of learning and therefore link to specific development areas such as management and leadership. They have been designed by NHSBT's Cross Directorate Education and Training group to support self-directed personal and team development outside the classroom setting and include topics such as "Know Your Team" and "Predicting Change".
The extended Shine Academy catalogue also includes a business skills and a health, safety, and wellbeing category.
On successful completion of the upgrade, which included an upgrade of the Traineasy LMS code integration with Moodle, Lisa Johnson, OD Manager - Digital & People Skills, commented, "The Traineasy team were committed to supporting our transition from Moodle 1.9 to 3.4 and ensuring that this was a success. It took around three months from initial kick off to go live. They worked tirelessly with our internal team to ensure identified issues from the testing phase were addressed in a timely manner. The result is a project that has been delivered on time and a platform that continues to support our current need to track and report on compliance and deliver a range of other digital resources to people across NHSBT."
