Free Compliance MOOC
Saarbrücken (GER)/ London (UK), September 2014 - eLearning software and content provider IMC (UK) Learning has launched a new Massive Open Online Course specifically aimed at those who are new to or already working in the UK financial-services-compliance sector. The MOOC is a free and interactive approach to compliance learning that has been created as a result of both the increased expectations on those who occupy controlled functions and the rising fines imposed by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) on individuals and firms who breach the ever-increasing laws and regulations.
The free five-module course covers topics such as an examination of the UK financial services regime, the responsibilities of compliance, financial-crime laws and regulations, the approved-persons regime, senior-management responsibilities, and safeguarding confidential information.
The free five MOOC modules are hosted on IMC’s Open Course World platform and are open to anyone but especially relevant for
- those new to or who have recently started financial-services-compliance roles
- compliance professionals who want to stay up to date with regulation
-
those interested in pursuing a career in financial-services compliance.
The course is designed to be intuitive, comprehensive, and interactive – combining videos, eLearning, interactive game-based training, reports, and assessments. An optional certificate will be provided on completion of the course.
Mark Martin, Managing Director at IMC, explains, "A big part of what we do with our learning programmes is to help companies meet their compliance-training and communication requirements, and so we have created this course as a useful additional resource for those charged with overseeing compliance in all types of financial-services organisations. We’ve tried to make it as informative and relevant as possible so that compliance professionals can refresh their knowledge and skills using our interactive platform."
The MOOC is set to complement IMC’s new financial-compliance range, which includes a market-ready suite of compliance courses called "Compliance Essentials" designed to cover the core compliance training needs of all staff.
