Almost Three Million Dollars Awarded for eLearning

Brisbane (AU), November 2010 - More than eighty projects have been awarded a share of $2.65 million to develop innovative eLearning training solutions across Australia in 2011.
The funding, provided by the national training system's eLearning strategy, the Australian Flexible Learning Framework (Framework), supports the Australian vocational education and training (VET) system to embed eLearning and tailor training to meet learners' needs.

The funding has been allocated for a six-month period, until the end of June 2011. This will bring the framework funding cycle in line with other funding arrangements under the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), which are based on a financial calendar year.

Led by registered training organisations (RTOs), the 2011 ELearning Innovations projects will

  • embed innovative eLearning solutions through business-training provider partnerships that target workforce-development needs;
  • implement innovative eLearning practices that address the specific needs of a diverse range of learners.

The projects benefit the national training system by demonstrating the value of eLearning and providing guidance and resources to other training providers.
