Inclusive Higher Education for All!

Brussels (BE), June 2011 - Share good or bad practices in the realm of equity in higher education with EquNet and win participation to the EquNet Conference 2011. Contributions (in the video and writings categories) are invited from organisations actively working on the field of equity in higher education and willing to share their good and/or bad practice with the public.

The motto of the contest is -œInclusive Higher Education for All! - European Competition for Equity-.

Participation in the contest is free. The deadline for the submissions has been extended to 10 June 2011. The most outstanding contributions in terms of artistic value and best embracing the competition topic will be displayed at the venue of the second EquNet Conference in Varna, Bulgaria (November 2011), on the EquNet website, and on the EquNet Facebook page. Two contributions, selected by a jury, will be invited to the second EquNet Conference at the project's expense.

In addition, the first EduNet Report, -œEvolving Diversity - an Overview of Equitable Access to Higher Education in Europe-, is now downloadable.

The planned publication date of the second report is spring 2012. It focuses on four groups facing specific barriers in accessing higher education: lifelong learners, people with a migrant background, people with special needs, and people from rural areas. The work investigates how the chances of these groups differ across European countries. Examples of good practice will show what can be done to enhance accessibility of higher education for these groups.

EquNet will be present at the following events:

  • EDEN Annual Conference: Learning and Sustainability - The New Ecosystem of Innovation and Knowledge, Dublin, 19-22 June 2011
  • Second EquNet Conference, Varna, November, 2011, and
  • MEDEA Awards 2011, Brussels, 24-25 November 2011
