Authentic Assessment

Fifth International Plagiarism Conference

Newcastel upon Tyne (UK), December 2011 - The 2012 International Plagiarism Conference celebrates ten years of pioneering research in this area. The fifth biennial event is being held 16-18 July 2012 in Sage Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK, and showcases innovative practices from around the globe.

The Conference promotes approaches to authentic assessment, which place the student at the heart of the learning process. It combines personal best practices with approaches to assessment, which both address plagiarism and support a high-quality learning experience along with strategies for managing the issue from an institutional level. The Conference provides a unique opportunity to connect with key thinkers in the field and to discover best practices and new approaches.

Now, in its fifth iteration the event has established a reputation as a forum for worldwide good practice in this area and attracts education practitioners at all levels. Attendees increasingly reflect the global scope of this topic, and previous conferences have attracted practitioners from the UK, Europe, the US, Australia, Asia, and the Middle East.

The 2012 conference will take place at the impressive Sage Gateshead live-music venue, designed by British architect Norman Forster, without doubt one of the most iconic buildings on the NewcastleGateshead Quayside.
