IMC Is Launching "IMC Teach" - a Free Cloud-Based Service
Saarbrücken (GER), October 2015 - From now on, the creators of learning content, presentations, and multimedia modules can use the IMC Teach cloud service for free via the website. With the new offer, IMC is providing a holistic solution for the creation, upload, and distribution of own contents, as well as for the assessment of usage intensity and the achieved learning outcomes. The service includes authoring software with comprehensive features, which can be used immediately after download to create new courses, interactive presentations, and knowledge tests, as well as the didactic fine tuning of existing materials.
With IMC Teach, the created contents can be published into a cloud environment and distributed to target groups of any size, all around the globe. Access to the learning units is possible from any device, and thanks to an integrated offline functionality, the materials and courses can also be used when no internet connection is available.
"A great benefit of IMC Teach is the integration with our authoring software. This allows us to address the mega-trend 'video-based learning' in the education sector with an easy-to-use tool, but one that offers the option of direct integration into a didactic concept, for example the mapping of learning paths or by adding interactive quizzes to these videos for an even richer experience," says Christian Wachter, Board Spokesperson of IMC AG.
In addition, the service offers the creators of online courses the opportunity to obtain information at any time, via a dashboard, about how many and which invited participants have already registered for a course and who has passed or failed the course.
The new offering was developed in particular for small and medium-sized companies that regularly have to train their staff members on topics such as occupational safety or procedures but only require a few of the many features of modern authoring software or a learning-management system.
An additional benefit of the new solution, compared to conventional sharing platforms, is the possibility to integrate knowledge tests into the created courses, the results of which the system analyses automatically.
With this evaluation component, course creators not only have the ability to draw conclusions based on the processing status about which contents are received best by the users and which are not. They can also request individual learners to repeat a course if they did not pass it the first time.
IMC has used its expertise from twenty years of software development to equip IMC Teach with all the necessary features that will allow even less-experienced content creators a quick entry to and secure handling of the tool.
An expansion of the service and additional service provisions are planned for the future. "We will gradually expand the functionalities with marketing, dialogue, and reporting features, and the integration into social networks is also being considered," explains Dr. Tobias Blickle, Board Member, responsible for products at IMC AG.
