Learning Pool Recruits Top Technical Talent from the BBC
Belfast (UK), March 2013 - Learning Pool, a fast-growing eLearning company, has pulled off a major coup by appointing Ryan Adams, former lead web developer for BBC Online, to head its specialist mobile app division in Belfast. Ryan has a wealth of experience in the field of technology and was, until recently, leading a team of UK-wide developers delivering the BBC's Knowledge & Learning output.
Mary McKenna, Learning Pool co-founder, said Ryan's expertise will help make the company into an international player. "The fact that someone with his knowledge and experience has committed to Learning Pool is a real boost for the company." She continued, "I'm confident Ryan will prove to be a great asset, as his knowledge of the industry is superb. I've no doubt that he will guide the mobile team to deliver more excellent service to our customers."
Learning Pool provides online learning services and works in partnership with customers to help transform internal training. Uniquely, the company encourages its members to work together to create and share resources, helping customers realise savings of over £50 million in the last six years.
"I've long admired Learning Pool, and I was thrilled when I heard that the company had opened a new office in Belfast," said Ryan. "I'm over the moon to have the opportunity to work with one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the UK."
"What's so appealing is that Learning Pool is not just focused on selling; there's a real drive to improve public services,- he continued. It's fantastic to be given the chance to be a part something I truly believe in, and it's what makes this opportunity so special."
The company recently announced plans to create thirty jobs in the UK. With a newly acquired Belfast office to help in the talent search, these appointments will build on its commitment to improve customer service for the one million people Learning Pool expects to train in 2013.
