PROLEARN Summer School 2007 for PhD Students
Frejus (FR), March 2007 - The third PROLEARN Summer School is being held from 27 May to 2 June 2007 in Frejus, France. The target group is PhD students investigating technology-enhanced learning-related issues and in progress on their dissertation research.
After two successful summer schools in 2005 and 2006, PROLEARN, the network of excellence in technology-enhanced learning for professionals announces its PROLEARN Summer School 2007. It is PROLEARN's ambition to foster cross-domain training and collaboration opportunities among researchers in Europe and beyond, working in the various fields of expertise that promote the advancement of TEL at the workplace.
The programme includes lectures and working sessions from leading professors in the field, trans-European tutoring, mentoring, and joint research opportunities, as well as internships with industrial partners. Additionally, the school will offer practical sessions in research methodology for technology-enhanced learning. Advanced PhD students will be identified to present their research at the EC-TEL 2007 Conference in September in Greece.
The announced course topics deal with various aspects of technology-enhanced learning, including deployment, metadata for TEL, support for organizational learning, and theoretical and methodological foundations of TEL.
The cost for PhD students is 500 euros, including accommodation, meals, and excursions. The PROLEARN network offers applying PhD students 21 scholarships to cover the costs of the summer school.
