2020 EDEN Annual Conference Will Be a Virtual Event

Timisoara (RO), April 2020 - With the development of the pandemic COVID19, it is not likely that national and international restrictions on normalization of life, travels, and social gatherings will be lifted by the end of June. In consideration of the present situation, the EDEN Executive Committee has decided to organize the 2020 Annual Conference as a Virtual gathering.

GenoaBudapest (UN), February 2018 - The EDEN Annual Conference will be organised conjointly with Education and Media Conference (EMEM) Italia, in Genoa, Italy 17-20 June 2018. EMEM, the national "community of communities", integrates the scholarly approach with practice and hands-on experience. This year in Genoa, opening to the international world will be in focus.

European Distance Learning Week

Budapest (HU), October 2017 - As in previous years, EDEN will be hosting European Distance Learning Week (EDLW) in cooperation with the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA). The latter’s National Distance Learning Week (NDLW) will be held in parallel with the EDEN event, 06-10 November 2017.

MOOCs Are Dead! - Long Live MOOCs

Brussels (BE), August 2016 - "MOOCs Are Dead! – Long Live MOOCs" is the title of the presentation of Dr. Christian M. Stracke, researcher in open education and innovation at the Welten Institute of the Open University of the Netherlands, at the 2016 edition of the annual European Distance and eLearning Network (EDEN) conference. Stracke advocates a shift of focus when discussing MOOCs. He also stresses the importance of a common Quality Reference Framework (QRF) to guide the design and development of MOOCs as well as other open online courses.
